A Phoroptor is an important part of your practice, and we take their maintenance seriously. Every unit we clean gets the same thorough treatment. We disassemble the phoroptor unit, clean the bearings, races, and optical surfaces. We disassemble the cross cylinders, clean out the old grease, re lubricate, reassemble and align the instrument. We adjust the PD mechanism, sphere detents, and cylinder axis tension. Then, we check the alignment and make sure the unit is on axis and optically correct. Lastly, we clean each individual lens so it is crisp and clear. You can rest assured that your phoropter, when maintained by a factory trained technician, will last longer and maintain resale value.
